Hold My Beer Dominates Dak The Pass Up in Divisional Matchup
(published 4/18/23)
Hold My Beer continued its winning streak as they faced off against Dak The Pass Up, their divisional opponent this past Monday. Despite missing several key players, HMB was able to showcase the depth of their team with Chelsea Frisbie stepping up and making significant contributions throughout the game.
The game started with a slow and methodical drive from quarterback Patrick Arias, culminating in a long bomb to Chelsea Frisbie for a touchdown. Dak The Pass Up quickly responded with a drive of their own, tying the game up early in the first half.
However, these would be the only points they would score for the remainder of the game as HMB's defense shut them down completely. Despite a few drops from HMB players, the team managed to execute several standout plays. Ida Barrera snagged her first career touchdown while Leydi Hall made a critical fourth-down conversion. Chelsea Hall and Eric Ellis also made significant contributions, hauling in two touchdown passes each and securing the team's victory with a final score of 28-6.
The offense was methodical and efficient, with short passes opening up opportunities for deep ball plays. However, Tre Bass stole the show with his ingenious pitches, extending runs and adding over 100 yards on the ground alone. On the defensive end, HMB also managed to get two interceptions from Eric Ellis and Tre Bass, keeping their opponents on their toes throughout the game.
As the reigning champions, HMB knows that they will need to maintain their dominance and continue to prepare for any changes their opponents may make against them. With a solid team effort and strong individual performances, HMB remains a force to be reckoned with in the league.
The victory against Dak The Pass Up marks another successful outing for the Hold My Beer team, adding another notch to their winning streak. With the playoffs looming ahead, the team looks to continue their impressive form and cement their position as the team to beat in the league.
Second Half Surge Propels Hold My Beer to Victory
(published 4/11/23)
Hold My Beer (HMB) delivered an unforgettable performance against Multiple Scoregasms in a battle for the top spot. The action-packed game started off on a sour note for HMB, with Scoregasms nailing a 50-yard touchdown bomb, catching the HMB defense off-guard. However, HMB's resolve never wavered as they came roaring back with tight end Cameron Foster exploding with huge chunk plays, putting Scoregasms' defense on notice.
The defensive unit of HMB had an impressive 4th down stop on the goal line but were unfortunately unable to capitalize with their team stalling on their next drive. It was then that linebacker Darnell Murphy stole the show with an electrifying interception, running it back for a touchdown that swung the momentum in HMB's favor just before halftime.
HMB came back even stronger in the second half, dominating Scoregasms with their impenetrable defense. Picks from the dynamic duo of Tre's Bass & Jesse Barba left Scoregasms scoreless in the second half, while HMB's offense continued to rack up points and extend their lead.
The ladies of HMB shone brightly on the offensive end, with Leydi Hall setting up the team on the goal line with a crucial catch, leading to Karla Hernandez sealing the deal with a touchdown. Meanwhile, Cameron Rechner & Kate Fryer moved the chains with ease, both showing off their impressive skills and making crucial catches without any drops.
The game slipped away from Scoregasms, who struggled to keep up with HMB's relentless attack and impenetrable defense in the second half. HMB's offense, led by quarterback Patrick Arias, continued to regain its rhythm and capitalize on extra point plays, while their defense settled in and shut down Scoregasms completely.
It was a stunning performance from HMB, as they dominated the game and secured their spot at the top of the league. With the level of play they showed, one can't help but wonder how long they can continue to dominate the competition.
'Hold My Beer' Manages To Hold Onto The Lead
(published 4/4/23)
As a reporter for the San Antonio Sports and Social Club (SSC), I had the honor of covering the highly anticipated Monday League flag football match between the reigning champions, Hold My Beer, and their opponents, Ruthless.
Hold My Beer emerged victorious with a 23-14 win, thanks in large part to the return of quarterback Patrick Arias, who had been away from the game for several months. Despite some offensive rust that led to late game interceptions and untimely penalties, Arias' leadership was instrumental in guiding the team to a well-earned victory.
Sophomore player Karla Hernandez also played a pivotal role in the win, scoring a crucial 2-point conversion that helped Hold My Beer maintain their lead. This highlighted the team's depth and demonstrated their ability to rely on different players when necessary.
Hold My Beer's defense started off strong, with a couple of early interceptions that forced Ruthless to make a change at quarterback. Though there were a few dropped interceptions throughout the game, the defense remained solid and made critical stops at key moments. The game ultimately ended with a late-game interception by Joseph Todd, which secured the win for Hold My Beer.
Despite some challenges, the reigning champions proved their mettle and held on to secure the victory. As they look to expand on their success and establish a strong rhythm, fans of the team will undoubtedly look forward to their future matches with great anticipation.
Overall, it was an impressive performance by Hold My Beer, and the SSC looks forward to bringing its readers more coverage of exciting Monday League flag football games in the future.
